Fun Stuff

Golf is a great game for many reasons. This page focuses on the social fun that reaches beyond the people who play the game.

We keep our eyes open for pictures we can modify and show with a golf caption.

Please feel free to copy them and pass them along.

We also invite you to join us in the search for pictures. If you can think of a caption, include that. If we publish a picture you send us, we will give you a $50 credit toward the purchase of any of our clubs. (More below)

GOLF RULES CHANGES (Posted Nov. 7, 2008)

DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE DEMOCRATIC NOMINEE HAS WON THE NOVEMBER 4, 2008 ELECTION RUNNING ON A CAMPAIGN OF CHANGE, A NUMBER OF RULES HAVE BEEN CHANGED TO MATCH HIS BELIEFS.

HANDICAP PRICING SCHEDULE

  • If your handicap is above 18 you will be able to play for free.
  • If it is above 30, the local golf course will pay you to play.
  • If it is between 11 and 18, you will see no increase in green fees.
  • If it is 10 or below, your green fees will be increased 50% to cover the lost revenue from the high handicappers.

BETTING - The amounts required for bets will be modified as follows:

  • For handicaps below 10, you will put in an additional $10.
  • For handicaps between 11 and 18, no additional amount.
  • If above 18, you will receive 50% of the pot regardless of your score.

MULLIGANS

  • If your handicap is above 18, you can have one Mulligan per hole.
  • If your handicap is 11 to 18, you have no Mulligans.
  • If your handicap is 10 or below, you will have one stroke per hole added to your score.

ROLL-UP RULES

  • If your handicap is above 18, you can place the ball on a tee for every shot.
  • If your handicap is 11 to 18, you will play it where it lies.
  • If your handicap is 10 or below, you must step on your ball before hitting it.

GIMME PUTTS

  • Handicaps below 10, no gimme putts, and a windmill will be placed in front of the hole.
  • Handicaps between 11 and 17, it is a gimme for any putt within the distance of your longest club. [Note: Now you have an additional reason to get one of our Telescopic Chest Putters!]
  • If your handicap is above 18, as soon as your ball is on the green, it's good.

PARS AND BIRDIES

  • Players will be limited to a maximum of one birdie and/or six pars per round.
  • Any excess birdies or pars must be given to those fellow players who do not have as many.

GOOD INTENTIONS

These new rules are intended to bring about fairness in scoring so that the final scores of all players will be about the same.

UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES

If the new rule changes have an unforeseen negative impact on the game, it is possible that low handicappers will quit playing and no one will be available to provide discount fees, pars, or birdies to the high handicappers. If this happens, it is likely that the entire industry will collapse. In that case, golf courses will be changed to low income housing projects, local PGA Pros will become housing maintenance employees, and golf equipment companies will retool to make tin cups.
